England is back in the knockout stage for the fifth straight year, with three trips to the finals and one championship in that span.

Samoa started off the 2023 Rugby World Cup with a bang, defeating Chile (43-10) before two straight losses in very competitive matches with Argentina (19-10) and Japan (28-22) to put them in fourth place in the standings.

For England, they have been one of the most dominant teams in pool play so far. They ran through the competition with wins over Argentina (27-10), Japan (34-12) and Chile (71-0) in its best showing so far.
